Plasma-Assisted CO2 Conversion (電漿輔助二氧化碳轉換)

Plasma source

Carbon dioxide is considered as a greenhouse gas and its production is significantly increased yearly due to the combustion of hydrocarbon fuels. CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) and CCU (Carbon Capture and Utilization) are the two major approaches for CO2 reduction and production control. Although CCS is effective in CO2 emission reduction, this approach is costly and accompanies with the challenge of storage. CCU aims to convert CO2 into practical fuels or chemicals that can be re-utilized, and there have been various CCU technologies developed to achieve the utilization purpose. Among these technologies, plasma-assisted CO2 conversion has gained great attention due to its low-temperature process, high conversion rate and high-energy efficiency etc.
